Wine Country

Do you know the way to San Jose? I think that was a song, but no we are not going to San Jose we are going to Napa Valley
Why would I go there? I don't drink, hate wine. I will try anything once..so here goes

The first thing you notice is the pure beauty, just breath taking
First stop was this place--I took my soap on vacation too!!

We met this really nice lady who paved the way for our first wine tasting experience, are you experienced?
I did give her a bar of soap--oh and I did buy a bottle of wine delish-its not the same as Boon's Farm Strawberry Hill

There are a couple of ways you can do this. Drink alot and be a pig
or drink a little and be a little pig--I was the later
This place has been in the family for a 100 or so years, you can have lunch on the grounds and just enjoy the beauty. They have a cheese shop, a deli, a gift shop and wine:-)

Next stop was this place, very quaint

This is called a cask room . You can rent it out for parties and such

This must be the keep the wine room

There is even a wine tasting train

These are the grape vines. My parents always had a few of these growing on a fence in the yard, no we did not make wine

We actually walked to the top of this road to get here, after I have no idea how many wind tasting places we went to. I was on numb mode. I did not even know I was in Calif at this point in time.

a view from the porch

My house in Key West had this kind of porch, same style of home and even had the same kick boards inside so I had to take this picture

Stained glass was common in this era. I think this home was built in the late 1800's it had alot of the same characteristics as my Key West home had. This piece probably came from a church. This is a very old piece of work.
But then again alot of the old wine family's came from Italy and this could have a meaning that i am not aware of

Dry white wine

and we made a pizza to go with the wine
